Watching live sports broadcasts is a popular activity. It doesn't matter if you simply enjoy the gameplay or are cheering for your team, perhaps even for your close relatives?
It is not always possible or practical to attend every event in person, and therefore many sports fans enjoy watching competitions via television, computer or smartphone. Many of these broadcasts are available for free, but some require a ticket. Why is this the case and should the viewer prefer a free or paid transfer?
The answer, as always, is completely certain... “it depends”.
It is clear that live sports broadcasts viewing is possible thanks to sports organisations, athletes, media companies and broadcast producers, who spend large sums to do them well. This costs include the installation of cameras and microphones, planning, production of graphics, travel expenses for athletes and technical teams, venue costs. and much, much more.

Free things/experiences are always nice, but that doesn't change the fact that someone still pays for them to be provided. If there's great public interest, it's either the taxpayer (if the broadcast is transmitted by a public service media channel), but generally receiving something for free still means that you are the product being sold.
Your pair of eyes is mostly sold to the advertiser.
This is very often done elegantly and organically, without disrupting the experience, for example with banners at competition venues or with logos in graphic elements. You have surely encountered advertising breaks (mid-roll) exciting moments, when you are already emotionally invested in the competition! But, in order for that to be brought to you, you have to watch the washing powder advert.

Or on many streaming platforms pre-rollbefore you even get to transfer.
So, one main reason why you as a viewer might prefer to watch a pay-per-view event is that you are directly helping to develop sports and support athletes.
Sports organisations, media companies and sports broadcast producers can only do their work if they have sufficient financial resources, and athletes also get direct encouragement from ticket sales, as they know they have fans who care about their progress.
These are the reasons why media conglomerates believe we should pay to watch sports broadcasts. Do you want to know our opinion on this subject? Then definitely click on the article link below:
